PRAYER FOR THE ARMED FORCES

O God watch over those exposed to the dangers of a military life.  Give them a strong faith which no human respect may influence them to deny.  Strengthen them by your grace against the influence of bad example.

We dedicate our service men and women to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Savior of the World and King of Peace.  We consecrate to you, through the hands of Immaculate Mary, Patroness of Our Country, their body, soul and all their actions for the honor and glory of God and Our Country.  May these lead to the salvation of their soul.

Dear Lord, preserve, these men and women from spiritual and moral dangers as well as the physical dangers of military life.  Help them to keep Your commandments as well as the commands of their superiors.  May they receive the sacraments frequently and pray daily.  Give them courage to serve and defend our country with honor and dignity.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, be ever with them in danger, strengthen them in hardships, and console them in injury or suffering.  When their time of service is over, may they return sound in mind, body, and soul to their loved ones at home, there to enjoy true peace.

Mary Immaculate, Patroness of Our Country, protect them from evil and help them to love you and your blessed Son with all their heart so they may worthily serve God and Country. Amen.
